Beginning with Children Charter School 2 (BwCCS 2) is a nurturing community that fosters a love of learning and the development of character for students in grades K-12.
Our students achieve academic excellence and are prepared to succeed in top performing high schools and colleges. BwCCS 2 students develop and use G.R.I.T. (Good Judgment, Resilience, Integrity, and Teamwork) for personal and community improvement.

In 2023, BwCCS 2 grades 3-5 outperformed the city, state, and district in ELA & Math on the New York State Tests
BwC students participate in more than 60 field trips and out-of-the-classroom learning experiences every year!
BwCCS 2 is honored to have been recognized as a New York State High Performing Reward School
All of our students have access to daily, free afterschool programming, including courses such as culinary, yoga, homework help, robotics, martial fitness, math, architecture club and much more.
100% of our students take Art, Music, Science, and Physical Education two times each week
100% of our students have access to the BwC Legacy Network that provides free services and resources to support high school, college, and academic success, and career exploration and preparation
Founded in 1992, Beginning with Children was a catalyst for a movement that changed the landscape of public education and has proven that success is not limited by zip-code.
We provide more options for families in Williamsburg and Bedford-Stuyvesant, currently serving grades K-8. We started our first high school in the fall of 2022.
