Frequently Asked Questions

The school day will begin at 9 a.m. and conclude at 5 p.m.

We decided to start our day later than traditional high schools based on research showing us that schedule benefited adolescents’ sleep, behavior, health and academic performance.

Our school day spans until 5 p.m. to include daily enrichment and activities blocks, which will include time for clubs, sports teams and events.

Our year-round schedule does not mean 12-months of traditional classroom learning.

Our year-round schedule is designed to provide our students with a combination of academic and enrichment opportunities, inside and outside of the classroom, over the entire year.

Our explorations segments during the summer and winter will enable students to pursue their unique interests in immersive 1-3 week programs.

In the eleventh and twelfth grade, students will have dedicated blocks for internships and work-based learning.

There will be four multi-week breaks throughout the year, in addition to school holidays.

Each grade will have approximately 90 students, with no more than 25 students in any class section.

We will add one new grade each year, so we expect there to be a total of 340 students in the 2024-25 school year.

We are currently exploring our best location options near our elementary and middle school campuses in the South Williamsburg / Bedford-Stuyvesant area of Brooklyn.
